Inspector Hector is a point'n'click adventure web game, made entirely on Javascript, which you can play for free. The premise is a classic who-done-it murder mystery: you're investigating a crime scene where you can search for clues, interrogate the major suspects and eventually solve the crime.
The gameplay is simple, yet intricate. You can use the clues you find as interrogation topics. But things get nasty: the suspects do not always tell you the truth. In order to catch them in a lie you will have to study their facial expressions as well as cross-reference their statements in your crafty journal (similar to games such as Discworld Noir). Correct cross-references will result in new clues (and new conversation topics) and thus you'll progress your investigation.
The key things I did during this development:
- designed all the puzzles promising a solid 1hour-long playthrough
- wrote and voiced all 240+ lines of dialogue for each of the five characters
- created the art for all of the characters along with all of their facial expressions
- animated all the characters
- finished the game (it was my first big personal project)
